Counselling & Psychotherapy
Denise Wade
Counselling
I offer short-term counselling, typically lasting 8 weeks to a year, depending on your needs. This approach is helpful for addressing specific, stand-alone issues like stress, relationship problems, or recent bereavement. In our sessions, we’ll focus on your current feelings and understanding of the situation. I believe you are the expert on yourself, and together we’ll work to find the best way for you to manage your situation and achieve a positive outcome.
Psychotherapy
If you wish to explore the deeper roots of your issue, psychotherapy may be a better fit. This longer-term, more in-depth approach helps you understand how your past influences the issues you’re facing today. It’s particularly useful for those dealing with long-term anxiety, depression, recurring relationship problems, or unresolved childhood experiences.
Hypno-psychotherapist
Clare Merendidis
Psychotherapy
Psychotherapy is a therapeutic approach that focuses on helping individuals explore and understand the deeper, underlying causes of their emotional and psychological challenges. We provide a safe, confidential space where clients can explore how past experiences, patterns, and relationships may be influencing their current thoughts, feelings, and behaviours. This process can be particularly beneficial for individuals dealing with long-term issues such as anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, trauma, or unresolved childhood experiences.
Hypnotherapy
Hypnotherapy can be used to help with a range of issues, including anxiety, stress, phobias, unwanted habits, and even pain management. By accessing the subconscious mind, it allows individuals to break negative thought patterns, overcome emotional blocks, and develop new, healthier behaviors. With the guidance of a trained hypnotherapist, clients remain fully in control throughout the process, ensuring a safe and comfortable experience aimed at achieving lasting change and personal growth.

Understanding and addressing your unwanted emotions, troubling thoughts, and unhelpful reactions can greatly enhance your mood, perceptions, decisions, and overall actions. To support you in this process, I use a blend of counselling approaches that are tailored to your unique needs, preferences, and the progress we have made together.
With sensitivity and empathy, I attune to your emotions, providing a space where you are heard without judgment or preconceptions. I also offer guidance in learning and practicing a variety of coping strategies to help you feel better and build resilience in challenging situations.
I believe that you are the expert on yourself and inherently know what is right for you. My role is to use my knowledge, skills, and experience to help you tap into your intuition and navigate your personal journey with greater confidence.
My therapeutic approach integrates several modalities, including person-centred therapy, relational and systemic approaches, parts assimilation, and cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), ensuring a holistic and personalized experience.

Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (TF-CBT): A first-line treatment recommended by the National Institute for Clinical Excellence (NICE) for individuals experiencing PTSD or trauma-related symptoms.
Family and Couples Therapy: Using approaches from Systemic and Family Therapy, I focus on strengthening relationships through Attachment Narrative Therapy (ANT) and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), both of which emphasize the importance of strong attachment and bonding in relationships.

Cognitive Analytic Psychotherapist
Vivienne Hopkins
Cognitive Analytic Psychotherapy works collaboratively with patients to identify unhelpful patterns in their relationships and coping mechanisms. By mapping out these patterns, patients gain insight into how they developed and learn practical strategies to make positive changes. CAT is particularly effective for those struggling with anxiety, depression, relationship issues, or complex emotional difficulties, offering a structured yet flexible path to lasting change.
I am a UKCP-accredited Cognitive Analytic Psychotherapist, Trainer, and Supervisor, as well as a Chartered Clinical Psychologist and trained CIC Mindfulness Teacher. With 20 years of experience in the NHS, I have primarily worked with individuals facing severe and enduring mental health challenges. My special focus lies in addressing relational and emotional difficulties, offering therapy for both individuals and couples. I provide therapy both digitally and in person to accommodate your needs.
Choosing the right therapist is a key relational step, so I offer an initial no-fee consultation. This allows us to discuss the potential for therapy, explore any questions you may have about my approach, and decide whether we would like to begin this journey together.
Acupuncture & Traditional Chinese herbal medicine
TCM Dr. Jianqian Pan
(Also known as Jenny Pan, a member of ATCM, the association of traditional Chinese Medicine UK)
Acupuncture is a natural, holistic treatment that involves the gentle insertion of fine needles into specific points on the body to promote healing and relieve pain. By stimulating the body’s nervous system and energy pathways, acupuncture can help reduce tension, improve circulation, and restore balance. It’s often used to address a range of conditions, including chronic pain, headaches, and stress, making it a powerful complement to chiropractic care for overall health and well-being.
Cosmetic acupuncture is a natural, non-invasive treatment designed to improve the appearance of your skin and promote a healthy, youthful glow. By stimulating specific points on the face, it increases blood flow, boosts collagen production, and enhances skin tone and elasticity. This gentle technique can help reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and puffiness, while also supporting overall skin health, offering a holistic approach to beauty and well-being.
Jenny also offers a range of holistic treatments, including Herbal Medicine, Hopi Ear Candling, and Cupping. These therapies are designed to support your overall health and well-being naturally.

EXCELLENT 69 reviews Sean Flynn Fantastic service Isabel Smith My son is 12 years old had been suffering with headaches, vomiting and dizziness which kept him off school several times a month for the last year. He plays a lot of football. We went through the medical professionals with many visits to the JR and nothing had shown up on the scans and tests. On our first visit to Back in Line Steph found two bones in his neck and head where out of line and adjusted them. The headaches lessened and his sleeping position changed. He has now been seeing Steph for a about four months and in the last five weeks he has not had any headaches or any of the other symptoms he was suffering with. Thank you to Back In Line and to Steph. We should have just come to you first. Rebekah Willis Excellent service - the treatment itself & advice has made a huge difference to my back. Steph is so knowledgeable & professional, and I’m impressed with how much is within scope for them to help with (I initially came in with back issues but now getting help & advice for foot & wrist issues), they really listen & tailor the service.
